January 25th, local time, the government of Galicia, Spain, announced strict control measures under the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before February 17 local time, all catering canteen services in the region will be closed, the borders of all municipalities will be closed, and the closure of non-essential commercial places will be limited to 16:00.
Before and on weekends, all activities such as museums must be closed. All activities in cultural places such as museums will be cancelled.
University courses will not resume until February 8. The first week after the resumption is online teaching. The curfew will be maintained at 22:00, and only cohabitants are allowed to gather together.
The pressure on the Galicia region’s health care system has basically been the same as that at the peak of the pandemic in April 2020.
The regional government requests people to stay at home after 18:00 as much as possible to avoid unnecessary travel.
