Yonhap News Agency reported on February 10 that according to the “Job Trends in January 2021” released by the South Korean Statistical Agency on the 10th, due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemci.

South Korea’s employment population decreased by 982,000 year-on-year in January this year, to 25.818 million, the largest decline since December 1998.

The unemployment rate rose by 1.6 percentage points year-on-year to 5.7%.

South Korea’s unemployment population in January was 1.57 million, an increase of 417,000 year-on-year, the highest since June 1999.
