Given that some of these uniforms are more than 25 years old, some South Korean experts believe that a large number of old uniforms may have been sold privately. South Korean media pointed out that after South Korean men completed reservist training, most of the old uniforms were either thrown away or sold online. South Korea’s military believes most of the old uniforms have gone overseas, some of which ended up in taliban hands.

Reported that the south Korean military uniforms appear in unexpected places has been an ongoing dispute. South Korea’s Defense Ministry held its first meeting in March to address the illegal outflow of unused uniforms as the dispute over the outflow of combat uniforms intensified. The Ministry of the Environment, the National Police And the Customs Office, as well as a number of second-hand trading platform companies and second-hand clothing exporters, participated in the meeting and discussed measures to prevent the outflow of combat uniforms. They decided to set up a special control team at the government level and notify South Korea’s Defense Ministry when they found combat uniforms sold on a second-hand trading platform. However, the clothing is still available online.
