Park Byung-seok will meet with key figures in the House of Representatives on the occasion of the formation of the new U.S. government. Relevant people in the South Korean National Assembly said that the visit to the United States would end Park Byung-seok’s parliamentary diplomacy to the four countries around the Korean Peninsula.

Since Park Byung-seok took office for six months, he has held talks with representatives of the Chinese, Russian and Japanese parliaments. On the 21st of this month, Park Byung-seok held a video meeting with Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, to discuss joint plans to fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic.

On the 22nd, Park Byung-seok held a video meeting with Rimori Oshima, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, to put forward the concept of a cooperation mechanism for epidemic prevention in Northeast Asia. On the 28th, Park Byung-seok held telephone talks with Russian State Duma President Vyacheslav Volokin and proposed that Russian President Putin visit South Korea.

In addition, Park Byung-seok attended a video conference of the Speakers of the Five Middle Power Collaboratives (MIKTA) composed of South Korea, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey and Australia on the 17th of this month, expanding the parliamentary diplomatic space.
