South Korea’s pandemic prevention department announced on February 6 that it will relax some pandemic prevention measures for non-Capital Circle areas.
The business closure time for businesses, including restaurants, cafes and indoor gyms, will be extended from the current 21:00 to 22:00; the Capital Circle area and Gwangju will still position the business closure time for businesses at 21:00.
The above adjustment measures will be implemented from next Monday (February 8), and it is expected that 580,000 merchants will be able to extend their business hours.
Recently, the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Korea in a single day has been about 400, while the number of confirmed cases in the Capital Circle accounts for the majority.
According to a report by South Korea’s health department on the 6th, there were 393 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Korea on the 5th, including 366 new cases in China and 247 new confirmed cases in the capital area.
At present, the National Capital Circle area of South Korea still implements the second highest level – 2.5 pandemic prevention level, and the non-Capital Circle area is level 2.
In addition, South Korea will continue to ban gatherings of five or more people.
The above measures will be implemented at least after the Spring Festival holiday, that is, after February 14.
