According to the announcement of the South African presidential palace on February 5, South African President Ramaphosa will step down as the rotating chairman of the African Union at the 34th Assembly of Heads of State and Government, held on February 6 and 7, 2021.

According to the presidential palace of South Africa, on February 6, South African President Ramaphosa will hand over the post of Chairman-in-Office of the African Union to President Tssekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The theme of the AU in 2021 is “Building the Africa We Want”.
