At the invitation of President Putin of the Russian Federation, South African President Ramaphosa will attend the 12th BRICS
Leaders’ Meeting on November 17, local time. The meeting will be held in video format.
The theme of the 2020 BRICS Summit is to maintain global stability, common security and innovative growth of the BRICS partnership.
As the rotating presidency, Russia will work to promote the improvement of the living standards and quality of the people in the BRICS countries.
The South African government stated that it will use the BRICS leaders’ meeting to discuss with
BRICS countries a series of problems facing South Africa’s current development, such as unemployment
poverty and fair trade, investment, and tourism.
Ministers of South Africa’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of National Security
and Ministry of Trade will also attend the meeting with Ramaphosa.
