Singapore’s Ministry of Health said in a statement late Friday that as the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Taiwan continues to increase, Singapore has tightened border controls on passengers who have visited Taiwan in the past 21 days, and from 23:59 p.m. on the 16th, holders of air passes will not be allowed to enter the country. Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term visa holders are required to stay at home for another 7 days after 14 days of isolation at designated facilities.
In addition, immigrants who have been to Taiwan in the past 21 days before the restriction order has been to Taiwan are also required to undergo polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on the third and seventh days of arrival. Passengers who are not Singapore citizens or permanent residents are required to undergo a PCR test within 72 hours of departure, which turns negative in order to be allowed to enter Singapore.
