Saudi Arabia has led a multinational coalition to shoot down a drone carrying explosives

Saudi Arabia’s first multinational coalition command issued a notice on the morning of the 20th local time, said the coalition earlier in the day shot down a drone carrying explosives. A spokesman for the multinational coalition command said in a statement that the drone was shot down en route to the southern Saudi city of Hamis Mushet, but he did not say whether the incident caused casualties and other damage.

The multinational coalition accuses Yemen’s Houthi forces of continuing to use drones to attack civilian targets in Saudi Arabia, saying it will take all necessary countermeasures.

Al-Khamis mushet is located in the southern Saudi province of Asher and is home to the kingdom’s key air base, king Khalid airbase, which Houthi militants have repeatedly claimed to have attacked using drones and ballistic missiles, but Saudi sources say both drones and missiles have been shot down and successfully intercepted.
