Reuters reported on January 15 that South Korean courts will rule on the bribery case of Samsung Electronics Vice President Lee Jae-ho next Monday, which will not only affect the company, but also affect all large South Korean chaebols.

On December 30, 2020, Yonhap reported that South Korean prosecutors requested the sentence of Samsung’s successor Lee Jae-yu to nine years in prison.

Reuters quoted legal experts as saying that the possibility of the court ruling Li Zaiying acquittal is very small, but it may announce a suspended sentence to allow him to continue to maintain his freedom of movement.

Previously, Lee Jae-su was prosecuted for allegedly asking Park Geun-hye and Choi Soon-sil to help him inherit the right to operate and provide bribes.
