Russia’s Federal Security Service and the Belarusian National Security Council jointly carried out a special operation to arrest Zekovich and Belarusian citizen Feduda in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday, citing the Russian Federal Security Service. The two men recruited populists from Belarus and Ukraine to stage a coup d’etat and murder Belarusian President Lukashenko on Victory Day on May 9, 2021.
It is reported that they had planned to occupy the radio and television media in Minsk, surrounded the local internal affairs and special police departments, completely cut off the energy system in Belarus, in order to hinder the movement of local powerful institutions.
Russia’s Federal Security Service said the two men’s illegal intentions were supported by the United States and Poland. Mr. Zekovic met with representatives of the United States and Poland before arriving in Moscow to be arrested.
