February 8th, local time, Russian State Duma President Volokin met with the visiting Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Kalibaf, and the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of economy, energy and health.
Volokin said that Russia-Iran relations are of a special nature.
The two sides have seen the losses caused by trade wars and sanctions, so they will work together to resolutely oppose the use of double standards.
He pointed out that the United States’ attempt to promote its expensive natural gas in the European energy market and try to replace the relatively low-priced Russian natural gas is a trade war in itself.
Volokin called for compliance with United Nations resolutions and support for the work of international institutions that oppose interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
In addition, Volokin and Kalibaf also held discussions on cooperation between anti-terrorism and coronavirus vaccine, and the two sides said they would strengthen exchanges and promote the development of bilateral relations.
