May 14, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova expressed the hope that the United States would complete the arrangements for its embassy and consulate personnel by August 1, as requested by Russia.
Zakharova noted that in response to hostile behavior by the United States, Russia has decided to take measures to counter it, including banning embassies and consulates of unfriendly countries from hiring Russian citizens and third-country citizens.
According to the decree documents issued by the Russian government, U.S. diplomatic missions and consulates will not be allowed to hire individuals to work in Russia at all.
Zakharova said that given the time required to implement the measure, the U.S. embassy and consulate in Russia can complete the corresponding Requirements by August 1. At the same time, she said, the problem is clearly over and there is no room for redemption.
