January 1 reported that a terrorist attack on a police officer occurred in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic of Russia, on December 28, 2020. One policeman was killed, one was injured, and two terrorists were killed.
According to Reuters, the extremist organization “Islamic State” claimed responsibility for the incident, but did not provide any evidence.
On the same day, the Chief Executive of the Chechen Republic of Russia Ramzan Kadyrov stated that two terrorists attacked with knives in Grozny and tried to snatch the weapons of the security patrol police, resulting in the death of one policeman and the injury of one policeman and sent to the hospital.
According to reports, two terrorists were shot dead while trying to snatch weapons.
Kadyrov said that the identity of the attackers has been determined. They are a pair of brothers born in the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. They entered Chechnya in 2012 before working in a bakery.
