Afghan government officials confirmed on the 14th that a roadside bomb attack occurred in the Hugiani region of Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan on the 13th, killing four civilians.
Zia Haq Omahile, governor of Nangarhar Province, told Xinhua News Agency that on the evening of the 13th local time, a car carrying four civilians triggered a roadside bomb in the Hugiani area, killing four people on the spot.
Omahile accused Taliban militants of planting the roadside bomb, but the Taliban have not yet responded.
The Afghan Taliban often use roadside bombs to launch attacks against the Afghan National Security Force and the NATO Coalition Forces in Afghanistan, which also harms many civilians.
