Qatar’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, said thursday that the government is in talks with several new vaccine manufacturers to ensure that all fans who come to Qatar to watch the 2022 World Cup are vaccinated against Coronavirus.
Mohammed said the plan is moving forward and that the government hopes to host a World Cup to immunize against the new outbreak of pandemic.
As of the 16th, Qatar has accumulated more than 190,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, a cumulative death of 367 cases, a cumulative total of more than 1.2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine.
The Qatar World Cup will be opened on November 21, 2022 and the final on December 18, the first time in history that a World Cup has been held in a Middle Eastern country.
