Russian President Putin signed a presidential decree on the 21st, approving the composition of the new members of the Council of State of the Russian Federation.

The chairman of the Council of State of the Russian Federation is Putin. Its members include Prime Minister Mishustin, the Chairman of the Federal Council (Upper House of Parliament) Matvyenko, the Chairman of the State Duma (Lower House of Parliament) Volokin, the Plenipotentiary of the President to the Federal District, the leaders of the parliamentary caucus and the administrators of the constituent entities of the Federation.
Putin reportedly signed the Law of the Council of State of the Russian Federation on December 8. According to this law,
The work of the Council of State of the Russian Federation includes ensuring the coordinated operation of the government, participating in budget formulation and personnel arrangements, determining the main direction of the country’s internal and foreign affairs and the priority direction of the country’s socio-economic development.
The Council of State of the Russian Federation was established in 2000. In January this year, Putin proposed to amend the constitution and strengthen the status of the Council of State of the Russian Federation in his State of the Union address to both houses of Parliament.
