President of the European Commission: The EU is ready to discuss a proposal to abandon intellectual property protection for coronavirus vaccine

Speaking at the European University College in Florence, Italy, on May 6th, European Commission President Jean-Claude von der Leyen said the EU was willing to discuss a U.S.-backed proposal to give up intellectual property protections for coronavirus vaccine. Von der Leyen also said the EU stands ready to discuss all effective and practical proposals to resolve the outbreak crisis.
