On February 13th, local time, the Portuguese government announced that it would extend the suspension of all commercial or private flights originating from the United Kingdom and Brazil to March 1 to prevent the import of mutant coronavirus, which is in line with the duration of the country’s latest extended national emergency.
During the period of the entry ban, humanitarian flights were only allowed to transport citizens and long-term residence holders and their families from the country to Portugal from the United Kingdom and Brazil, and required returnees to provide a negative certificate of nucleic acid test for COVID-19 72 hours before boarding and quarantine for 14 days after arrival in Portugal.
