Pope Francis will visit Iraq for the first time in March next year.

Reuters reported on December 7 that the Vatican said on Monday that Pope Francis will visit Iraq for the first time from March 5 to March 8 next year.

Matteo Bruni, spokesman of the Vatican, said that Francis will visit the Iraqi capitals Baghdad, Ur, Erbil, Mosul and Clarks.

Bruni said in a statement that the Vatican will publish Francis’s plan for this trip in due course and will take into account changes in health emergencies around the world.
