According to the report, the company said, “We plan to continue to use anchorage positioning pipe paving ships this year to lay pipelines in Germany’s exclusive economic zone. We will announce the specific pipe-laying ship later.
According to local media reports, Germany may set up a foundation to circumvent the sanctions imposed by the United States on the “North Stream-2” natural gas pipeline project.
The “North Creek-2” natural gas pipeline project was built in 2018 and was originally planned to be completed by the end of 2019. Later, due to U.S. sanctions, the companies undertaking pipeline laying tasks stopped work until January 2020.
In October 2020, Gazprom said that Russia would resume the laying of the “North Stream-2” natural gas pipeline. Subsequently, the United States once again expanded the sanctions on “North Stream-2” to include enterprises that provide “North Creek-2” natural gas pipeline construction vessels.
