NBC has just reported that according to people around Pence, Trump banned Pence’s chief of staff Mark Short from entering the White House after Pence refused to reverse the results of the presidential election.
Short reportedly served as the White House legislative head and advised Pence on the electoral vote counting process.
According to previous reports, on the 6th local time, Pence officially “disrupted” with Trump in a letter to lawmakers.
He said that he did not have the “power to unilaterally decide on the presidential election” and could not change the election results.
Trump then tweeted outrage at Pence, writing: “Mike Pence has no courage to do what he should do to protect our country and our Constitution.”
President of the U.S. Senate and Vice President Pence announced Biden’s victory in a joint meeting in the early morning of the 7th local time.
He said Biden “gets 306 electoral votes” and Trump “gets 232 electoral votes”.
