February 4th – On the 3rd local time, former Vice President Pence of the United States announced that he would open a transitional office to carry out official activities.
According to ABC on the 3rd, Pence and his wife will process letters, make public statements and official activities through this office. At present, the Pences live in Virginia.
A spokesperson said they planned to move back to Indiana in the summer, where Mike Pence served as governor.
Under U.S. federal law, the outgoing President and Vice President will have a transitional office and other services for six months to complete their official duties.
The Hill notes that Pence is considered a potential candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential candidate and is expected to form a political fund-raising organization in the coming months.
Previously, some U.S. media revealed that the organization would allow Pence to maintain an important relationship with Republican donors, which may be conducive to his future campaign, and Pence is also considering running in the U.S. presidential election after Biden’s first term.
Pence’s advisers have said that the former vice president has not made a final decision on whether to run.
