In a statement on the 10th, Pelosi asked Pence to “convene and mobilize the cabinet and use the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to declare that the current president cannot exercise his power”.
The resolution gives Pence 24 hours to respond otherwise the House will continue to push forward the impeachment process.
Previously, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Schumer have repeatedly called for Trump’s removal and accountability for the congressional riots. In an interview on the 10th, Pelosi said that he still hoped that Trump would be impeached, and “there are many people in Congress who support the impeachment of the president again”.
