Alba Verges, Minister of Public Health of Catalonia, Spain, announced on December 3rd local time that due to the rebound of epidemiological indicators, the region will remain in the first phase of the downgrade of control measures from December 7th local time, instead of entering the second phase of the downgrade as originally planned.

This means that for at least 15 days from December 7, the number of customers in indoor catering places in Catalonia cannot exceed 30% of the maximum capacity, and cultural and sports venues should be limited to 50% of the maximum capacity, while maintaining the limit of up to six gatherings and border closures, curfews and other measures.

According to the indicators released by the health department of Catalonia on December 3, the rate of COVID-19 transmission in the region has been on the rise for the third consecutive day.
