July 2 local time, WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency, quoted Akram Al-Khatib, the Palestinian Attorney General, as saying that the Palestinian side would not hand over the bullet that shot Shireen Abu Aqlah, a reporter of Al Jazeera, to Israel, but It has agreed that the United States will send relevant experts to participate in the investigation on bullets and related situations.
On May 11 this year, Shireen, a female Al Jazeera journalist with dual American and Palestinian nationality, was shot in the head in the Palestinian West Bank city of Jenin, which eventually died, triggering mutual accusations between Palestine and Israel.
Palestinian and United Nations investigation reports show that Shireen Abu Aqlah died of bullets fired by the Israeli army. However, Israel insists that it is difficult to investigate when Palestine refuses to hand over the bullets involved.
