April 18 Japan’s Osaka Prefecture on the 18th added 1,220 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, more than 1,000 cases for six consecutive days, according to Japan’s NHK television. The number of new confirmed cases on the 18th exceeded the 16th’s maximum increase of 1209 cases, the largest increase to date. In addition, on the 18th, three new deaths were reported.

Osaka Prefecture has been applying “key measures such as prevention of spread” based on the revised special measures law in response to covid-19 outbreak, but the surge in infections continues. (
