Peru Institute of Geophysics, a magnitude 5.7 earthquake occurred in the Pasco region of central Peru at 13:24 local time on the 30th.
The epicenter was about 28 kilometers east of the small town of Posusso and the focal depth was 50 kilometers.
As of press time, no casualties have been reported.
According to Peruvian media reports, earthquakes were felt in many places across the country, including the capital Lima.
Peru is located on the Pacific Rim seismic belt and is a country prone to earthquakes.
On August 15, 2007, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake occurred in Peru’s Ica province, causing about 600 deaths and more than 1,200 injuries.
