Nigerian President Buhari gave a speech calling on youth to stop street protests

Nigerian President Buhari delivered a national radio and television speech in response to the recent continuous protests and demonstrations.

Buhari said that the Nigerian government accepted their demands after listening and carefully evaluating the five-point demands of the protesters and immediately disbanded the “special anti-robbery squad” among the police. Regrettably, the swift actions taken by the government seem to be misunderstood as “signs of weakness” and distorted by the interests of some selfish and unpatriotic people.

Buhari also said that all parties have seen the consequences of the protests: deaths, prison attacks, criminals escaped, public and private properties were destroyed or destroyed, the old palace site in Lagos was destroyed, so-called protesters broke through. Enter the international airport, and these actions were carried out in the name of protesting the “special anti-robbery squad.”

In his speech, Buhari called on young people to stop protesting on the streets, hoping that they would constructively participate in the government’s search for solutions. He said that the government has heard the voices of young people and is responding.
