New Zealand new cabinet announced the addition of new ministers for COVID-19 response
Wellington, November 2 New Zealand current Prime Minister and Labour Party leader
Ardern announced on the 2nd the list of new cabinets.
The previous cabinet Health Minister Chris Shipkins will be the Coronavirus.
Minister of Outbreak Response.
Ardern said that the primary focus of the new cabinet is how to protect communities from
the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and promote economic recovery.
She said that Shipkins, as the minister of response to Coronavirus pandemic
“will be responsible for all aspects of the response.”
In addition, Grant Robertson will serve as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Minister of Infrastructure
and Andrew Little will serve as Minister of Health.
Naya Mahuta will serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs, the first female foreign minister in New Zealand history.
New Zealand parliamentary elections are held every 3 years.
In this election, about 2.4 million voters voted and a total of 17 political parties contested
but only 5 parties eventually entered the parliament.
