April 14th – On theĀ 13th, local time, security personnel of two high schools in Brooklyn, New York City, USA, found taser guns hidden in lipstick and knives disguised as combs on students through metal detectors.
According to the New York Post on the 13th, these weapons include knives that look like colored combs and taser guns disguised as lipstick. They were all found by school security personnel through metal detectors. Several students, including two girls, said that they carried them all day in self-defense.
New York police have said that as offline classes gradually opened in recent weeks, the number of dangerous goods such as controlled knives seized in schools is increasing, with 25 weapons collected in five days in March alone.
Previously, there was a heated debate in the United States about whether scanning equipment and security personnel were needed in schools.
Opponents believed that scanners created a sense of hostility and criminalization, which undermined the educational atmosphere. Supporters said that in view of the increasing possession of weapons on campus, the installation of relevant testing equipment is a necessary measure.
