Navaline, a previously poisoned Russian opposition figure, faces criminal investigation

Reuters, December 29th, Russian state investigators said on Tuesday that they had launched a new criminal investigation into the Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, saying that the latter would use the funds collected from the public to the personal needs of his participating organization.

According to AFP on the 25th, Russian authorities launched a criminal investigation on Friday into opposition leader Navalline’s ally Lyubov Sobor, accusing her of threatening suspected poisoned and killing Navaline.

44-year-old founder of the Russian Anti-Corruption Foundation Navaline felt extremely unwell on August 20 on a domestic flight from Russia.

After the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, Navaline was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then to the Sharithai Hospital in Berlin, Germany. The Sharithai Hospital announced on September 7 that Navaline had awakened from a coma.
