December 31, 2020, local time, Indian Prime Minister Modi delivered a video speech to the whole country on the occasion of the New Year. According to media reports such as Indian TV station Zee, Modi delivered a New Year’s message by videoconference.
Modi reportedly said that 2020 is a challenging year, but India will try to overcome all obstacles. He further added that the new year will bring many changes to the country.
In addition, Modi also thanked medical staff, health workers, pharmacists and other frontline workers in the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed his New Year’s wishes, saying: On the occasion of the New Year, I extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to all my compatriots living in India and abroad.”
