Japan’s manufacturing industry has revealed another scandal recently.
According to a report by the Japan Broadcasting Association TV station on the 15th, Japan’s Mitsubishi Electric Company said on the same day that it had exported a large number of auto parts that did not meet local regulations to European car companies, and also forged relevant documents for three years
According to the report, Mitsubishi Electric Company issued a statement on the same day, saying that in the three years from June 2017 to October this year, the company exported a large number of non-compliant on-board audio parts to European car companies, with a quantity of more than 335,000 pieces.
The report pointed out that Europe has implemented new regulations on radio equipment since June 2017, and Mitsubishi Electric’s parts do not meet the new regulations, so they are non-compliant products.
However, Mitsubishi Electric Company not only concealed the product compliance, but also forged relevant documents.
When the local organization inspects the product, Mitsubishi Electric Company uses the modified products to pass the test to create the illusion that the whole batch of products meet the standards.
Mitsubishi Electric apologized on the same day and said that it would conduct further investigation into the matter and seriously deal with the employees involved.
