Mayor of Vienna: Terrorist attack has resulted in 2 deaths and 15 injuries including 1 suspect killed
November 3 According to the British “Independence” on the 3rd, the mayor of Vienna, the Austrian capital, said that the terrorist attack in the city center has caused 2 deaths and 15 injuries, including 7 serious injuries.
Mayor Michael Ludwig said in an interview with Austrian media ORF that among the two dead, one suspect was killed by the police. The Austrian Minister of the Interior previously stated that the fugitives “carrying weapons are very dangerous” and the Austrian special forces are pursuing them. In order to prevent the suspect from absconding from the country, Austria’s neighboring Czech Republic started random inspections at the border.
According to reports, there were 6 simultaneous attacks in the center of Vienna on the evening of the 2nd, all near a synagogue, but it is not clear whether the church was the target of the attack. As a “preventive measure”, all synagogues, Jewish schools and related institutions in Vienna will remain closed on the 3rd.
