April 28th, Maryland and North Carolina announced that they would relax the masking rules.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced that the state’s residents no longer need to wear masks outdoors and will relax restrictions on eating outdoors.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper says the state’s residents will no longer have to wear masks outdoors from the 30th.

Maryland Gov. John Hogan cited the latest guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a statement, noting that the state has completed more than 4.5 million doses of the vaccine, so people don’t have to wear masks outdoors, and restrictions on outdoor dining in bars and restaurants will be relaxed from May 1.

North Carolina Gov. Cooper said that in addition to relaxing the mask order, the indoor crowding limit will be further relaxed.

27, after Biden announced that fully vaccinated people would not wear masks outdoors, as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, several states and territories, including Louisiana and Tennessee, announced on the same day that they would relax the requirements of the mask order.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said the city would not change existing rules, including mask orders.
