Man arrested for assaulting police officer in riots in U.S. Capitol

On January 20, local time, the FBI arrested Patrick Edward McCaughey in Connecticut.

Macaulay faces multiple charges for participating in the riots in the Capitol and beating police officers.

According to FBI documents, during the Capitol riots, Macaulay repeatedly threatened police officer Daniel Hodges that if Hodges did not return home, he would attack him.

Subsequently, Macaulay forced Hodges between the two doors and used violence against Hodges, causing him to be injured in the face.

According to the document, Macaulay’s use of shields to beat others was filmed by surveillance cameras in the Capitol.

He is currently facing charges of beating police officers and breaking into others.
