At 14:36 local time on the 9th, a Boeing 737-500 with 62 passengers on board took off from Jakarta International Airport. Four minutes later, it lost contact with the ground and was found to have crashed in the waters of the Kuril Islands region of Jakarta.

A staff member of the search and rescue command center said that the salvage was mainly the wreckage of the passenger plane, as well as the remains and remains of some of the victims. “It is not expected that there will be no survivors”.
Indonesian Transport Minister Budi and Indonesian National Army Commander-in-Chief Hadi held a press conference at the dock on the same day.
