Spain’s interior ministry’s security services will step up their protection after death threats were received in recent days by the country’s former second deputy prime minister, Pablo Iglesias, the head of the security services, Maria Garmes, and the interior minister, Marrasca, according to Spanish media.
All three dignitaries have received death threats with bullets in recent days. On 26 April, local time, Spain’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Marotto, received a similar death threat. Spain’s Interior Ministry said the death threats could pose a risk to the safety of administrative personnel and would take protective measures to ensure their safety.
