According to the Lebanese State News Agency, on the 22nd local time, Lebanese President Awn signed a decree to allocate 50 billion Lebanese pounds (about $33m) of financial advances to the Lebanese Supreme Relief Council to compensate the victims of the Beirut port bombing.

On the same day, the Prime Minister of the Lebanese caretaker government, Diab, talked to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Guterres, thanking him for organizing the “International Conference in Support of Beirut and the Lebanese People” after the bombing in Beirut port.

On August 4, 2020, a violent explosion occurred in the Beirut port area, killing at least 190 people, injuring more than 6,500 people, displacing about 300,000 people and destroying a large number of houses.
