Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Sabah told the outside world on Kuwaiti national television on the afternoon of the 4th local time
that the consultations aimed at resolving the Qatar severance crisis had achieved fruitful results, and that the parties had reached
agreement on cooperation to maintain regional peace and stability.
Ahmed Al-Sabah was also particularly impressed.
Thank you for your support for this consultation, Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to the President of the United States.
Relations between Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic relations with
Qatar in June 2017 on the grounds of “sabotaging regional security” and “supporting terrorism”.
At the end of November 2020, there were media reports that the Qatar severance crisis would be resolved in the short term
but Saudi officials did not respond to this.
