The man wanted to commit suicide. He painted lamp oil on his body and in the room and set it on fire. Finally, he escaped unscathed and told the police “I didn’t expect it to be so serious.”
According to reports from Japan’s Fuji TV and Sankei Shimbun on the 16th, the suspect was named Junyue Kindaichi and lived in a two-story wooden apartment in Toshima, Kita-ku, Tokyo.
On the evening of the 15th, this apartment caught fire, spreading 150 square meters, and the fire gradually stopped 5 hours after the incident. The fire killed a 70-year-old man living on the second floor and injured three others.

According to the investigation, the suspect originally planned to commit suicide. The lighter lights the room. But before the fire spread to him, he escaped from the room. After the police arrived, they found him leaning against a nearby dirt wall.
