February 8th local time, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu briefly attended the hearing in the Jerusalem District Court and again denied the charges against him in the corruption case.
This is Netanyahu’s second personal appearance in court.
In court, Netanyahu briefly said: “I confirm the answers of [my] lawyers [to the corruption allegations].” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing was postponed until today (8th).
The public could not listen live.
Journalists could only watch the hearing live on TV in the next room of the court.
Netanyahu faced bribery, fraud and dishonesty charges, and he attended the first hearing in the Jerusalem District Court last May.
During that trial, Netanyahu made a long, fierce speech, attacking the Israeli judicial system and the media, and calling the charges against him “fabricated” and denied any improper behavior.
Netanyahu was the first Prime Minister indicted in Israel’s history.
