February 20th – According to theĀ news agency of Comprehensive TAS and Russo-Presse on the 19th, Russian President’s Press Secretary Peskov responded to Bloomberg’s news on the implementation of new sanctions against the “Nord Stream-2” natural gas pipeline project on the same day.
Russia hopes that the United States will understand the situation.
Bloomberg previously reported that the Biden administration will submit a report to the United States on the implementation of a new round of sanctions against the gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2”.
Peskov responded: “I hope the United States will understand the situation and do not impose sanctions.”
Peskov said: “It is not clear what sanctions Bloomberg and other media are referring to.
However, Russia still hopes that the United States can understand the situation and give up the sanctions.
The imposition of sanctions is meaningless to both Russia and the United States.
Bloomberg also revealed in the report that the Biden administration’s report involved a new round of sanctions imposed on some Russian companies, but the United States did not impose sanctions on German companies that were also involved in the construction of Nord Stream-2.
Previously, after the visit of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Borelli to Russia, the European Union announced that it would adopt a new round of sanctions against Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov responded: “If the EU imposes sanctions on Russia and endangers the Russian economy, Russia is ready to sever ties with the EU.”
