by YCPress

December 15 According to report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 15th, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif strongly condemned the United States’ sanctions on Turkey’s purchase of S-400 missile defense systems, calling it “another full demonstration of the United States’ contempt for international law”.

Zarif reportedly tweeted that “Iran will stand in the position of the Turkish people and government to jointly deal with pressure from the United States” and was accompanied by the hashtag #NeighborsFirst.

Last week, the U.S. Congress passed the Defense Budget Act for fiscal year 2021, imposing sanctions on Turkey’s purchase of Russia’s S-400 missile defense system and Russia’s gas pipeline project.

The Turkish and Russian foreign ministries issued statements one after another condemning and rejecting the decision of the United States to impose unilateral sanctions on Turkey.
