25 November Iranian President Rouhani expressed the hope that the new U.S. government can repeal the Trump administration’s Iran policy and return to the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.
Rouhani said that the Trump administration, which sought the collapse of the Iranian government, had faced a “humiliating” failure. One of the clear victories of Iran’s economic war with the enemy is the end of the Trump era.
Rouhani said Iran hopes that the new U.S. government led by Biden will have the opportunity to remedy the mistakes of the current U.S. government and restore compliance with international commitments by respecting international law. He stressed that as long as the United States can do this, Iran will always abide by its obligations and commitments and ease tensions.
In May 2018, the current U.S. President Trump announced his unilateral withdrawal from the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, and then the United States resumed sanctions against Iran and continuously increased sanctions. The Iranian government has repeatedly stressed that the pressure exerted by the United States on Iran is ineffective, and Iran is not afraid of any threat from the United States.
