Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif believes that Tehran can cooperate with Washington on security issues in the Persian Gulf, RIA Novosti news agency said on Jan. 24.
In an interview with the Iranian newspaper Etemad, Zarif said, “I personally believe that we should clarify the final situation in the relations between Iran and the United States.
Tell the United States that we will not cooperate on Israel, but there is no problem about cooperating in the oil sector and there is no problem about securing the Persian Gulf.”
Zarif also stressed that the presence of foreign powers in the Persian Gulf undermines regional security, so there is no place for the United States in the Persian Gulf.
