Iran responds to Trump: Any hostile action against Iran will be strongly countered
On the 17th local time, the spokesperson of the Iranian government, Ali Rabie, responded to the US President Trump’s attempt to request an air strike against Iran’s major nuclear facilities at a press conference. Rabie said that any hostile action against the Iranian people will face a strong counterattack from Iran.
According to foreign media reports, US President Trump had consulted senior advisers and a team of staff on how to attack Iran’s main nuclear facilities last week. After learning that the attack would trigger a large-scale conflict, Trump abandoned the plan. Earlier, the International Atomic Energy Agency issued a report stating that Iran’s low-enriched uranium reserves have exceeded 12 times the upper limit of 300 kg stipulated in the Iran nuclear agreement.
Since the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement in 2018, it has imposed “the strictest sanctions” on Iran. In response, Iran has announced several times that it will reduce its commitments to fulfill the Iran nuclear agreement.
