Iran finds the first case of mutant COVID-19 infection

Reuters on January 5, Iranian health minister Saeed Namaki said on Tuesday that Iran has reported the first case of a mutant coronavirus infection found in the United Kingdom, infected by an Iranian citizen who arrived from the United Kingdom.

The infected person is being hospitalized in a private hospital and “no trace of the virus has been found in the relatives of the patient,” Namaki said.
