January 10th – The Indonesian military continued to carry out search and rescue work for the wrecked aircraft on the 10th.

Indonesian search and rescue agencies revealed that they suspected to have received a black box signal.

According to Sky News, Bagus Puruhito, the head of Indonesia’s search and rescue agency, said that they were investigating two signal points, which may have come from the black box of the crashed passenger plane.

The Indonesian military said that divers had found part of the wreckage of the Boeing 737-500 at a depth of 23 meters in the Java Sea and identified it as the crash site.Earlier, the Indonesian military also said that a warship involved in the search and rescue also received a signal from the passenger plane, which matched the coordinates of the pilot when he last contacted the tower.
